PoE Injectors

Originally used a non-PoE switch, but needed to connect with PoE devices (e.g., IP cam).

When PoE is required (e.g., only 1–2 ports) without replacing the existing non-PoE switch, a PoE injector can be placed between the switch and the PoE device to provide both power and data.

PoE Splitters

Used With Non-PoE Devices:

  1. PoE Switch → Splitter → Non-PoE Device
  2. Non-PoE Switch → Injector → Splitter → Non-PoE Device

The PD does not support PoE, but needs to receive power from a PoE system. The splitter separates power and data from the PoE input to supply the non-PoE device.
