05/11/2026
Advantech (TWSE: 2395), a global leader in IoT intelligent systems and embedded platforms, today announced its executive leadership succession plan. Effective January 1, 2027, founder K.C. Liu will transition to the role of full-time Chairman, while Miller Chang, currently President of Advantech's Embedded Sector, will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This transition marks a new chapter in Advantech's evolution toward professional management and organizational transformation, with clearer strategic responsibilities and stronger global operational collaboration to enhance competitiveness and support long-term growth.
Chairman K.C. Liu to Focus on Corporate Governance, Long-Term Development, and New Business Investments
K.C. Liu stated, "Since co-founding Advantech in 1983 at the age of 29, I have dedicated 42 years to building and growing the company. Today, Advantech's business model and leadership succession team, including our CXOs and Business Group Presidents, have largely matured and are well established. I believe this is the right time to transition the CEO role, representing a natural and necessary step toward Advantech's long-term sustainability. Following the transition, I will continue serving as Chairman, focusing on corporate governance, long-term development, and new business investments, while supporting the new leadership team in guiding Advantech's continued progress and growth."
Miller Chang joined Advantech in 2007 and has played a key leadership role in advancing the Embedded Sector's edge computing, Edge AI, and global industry ecosystem partnerships. As CEO, Chang will oversee Advantech's business operations, with immediate priorities including strengthening cross-business group collaboration, integrating technologies and global channel resources across business groups, and defining and executing the company's overall business objectives. These efforts will accelerate the commercialization and scalable deployment of Advantech's "Edge Computing & AI-Powered WISE Solutions" strategy.
Miller Chang stated, "As AI evolves from technological innovation toward large-scale industrial adoption, future competitiveness will no longer be defined by individual products alone, but by the ability to integrate computing platforms, software services, industry expertise, and global service capabilities to create scalable and sustainable business value. Over the past four decades, Advantech has established a strong foundation in technology, brand recognition, industry expertise, and global presence. Building on these strengths, I will work closely with our leadership team to drive the next phase of growth. We will further strengthen cross-business group collaboration and global operational integration, bringing together our technologies, industry expertise, and worldwide channel resources to accelerate the deployment of Edge AI, AI Agents, and Physical AI at scale across vertical industries. At the same time, we will continue exploring emerging industries, developing innovative products and solutions, and cultivating new growth opportunities to take Advantech's business scale, revenue, and profitability to new heights."
Looking ahead, Advantech will further clarify the strategic and operational responsibilities of its Chairman and CEO. The Chairman will focus on corporate Governance, long-term corporate development and new business investments, while the CEO, together with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will oversee group operations, business integration, resource allocation, and annual performance objectives. Through its Worldwide Business Operations (WWBO) framework, Advantech will also strengthen collaboration and decision-making efficiency across business groups and global regions, establishing a management model that combines long-term strategic vision with operational excellence.
Miller Chang, President of Advantech’s Embedded Sector, will officially assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on January 1, 2027, overseeing the company’s global operations and future growth strategy.
